On-site groundwater drainage: Vacuum pump unit with sand trap in use

IMG_1231

Client: Municipality of Lienen

Project description:
The industrial park in Lienen is being expanded in the area around Ölbergstraße. As part of the construction work to build the roads and a rainwater retention basin, Koop Wasserbau was commissioned to carry out the necessary water drainage measures.
Technical implementation:
Groundwater lowering through deep drainage in combination with vacuum pumps
Laying of around 750 meters of drainage pipes, connected to the pump system in sections
Installation of a sand trap container for pre-cleaning and a water meter for controlled discharge of the pumped water

Challenges and solutions:
Efficient groundwater lowering was essential for the safe execution of the earthworks and road construction work. Targeted planning, precise execution, and the use of proven water drainage techniques ensured that the construction project could be completed without interruption.

Result:
With its experience in the field of groundwater drainage, Koop is making a decisive contribution to the successful development of the new industrial site. The project is a prime example of the efficient use of modern water drainage solutions in municipal civil engineering.

Hillside Dewatering for the New Neandertal Gymnasium (Erkrath)

In Erkrath, a new secondary school (Gymnasium) with a modern sports hall and an integrated retention basin is being built. Due to the sloping site, Koop Wasserbau is taking on the central task of water management/dewatering. The site requires a combination of deep and shallow foundations. To ensure stability and drainage, Koop Wasserbau is installing deep drains at variable depths and lengths, running parallel to the slope beneath the planned building.

Lowered position of the N391 ring road

After evaluating the results of the first pumping tests, Koop Bronbemaling is currently conducting a second pumping test in the area of the lowered section of the N391 ring road in Emmen. The aim is to investigate the feasibility and effects of a planned groundwater lowering for the renovation of an existing waterproof membrane structure under the N391. This membrane serves to support and stabilize the road in the event of fluctuating groundwater levels.

Retention soil filter Bochum

As part of the construction of a retention soil filter in Bochum, Koop Dewatering is supporting STRABAG GmbH with the dewatering of an excavation pit flooded by heavy rainfall. The aim of the operation is to drain the excavation pit as quickly as possible and thus ensure that it can be driven over and that construction work can progress safely.
