Campus Deutz

CD3-900x471

For the extension of the Campus Deutz in Cologne, we received the order from the company Züblin Spezialtiefbau GmbH. Here we are installing the dewatering system. In the approx. 8,000 m² excavation pit, 28 wells will be drilled to a depth of approx. 15 m with a drilling diameter of 1,000 mm using the grab drilling method. The casing diameter of the wells is 400 mm.

Pumps with a pumping capacity of 250 m³/h each will be installed in each well. The pumped water will be led via collector pipes with a diameter of 300-800 mm, partly elevated, into a harbor basin of the Rhine about 300 m away. For this purpose, three pipe bridges with a span of about 18 m and a height of 8 m were built around the excavation pit to bridge a large street, including a streetcar line. The construction of the large pipe bridge was carried out in cooperation with the companies involved during the night using a 200 t truck-mounted crane.

Dewatering is planned for the event that the Rhine should have a high water level. Thus, up to 7,000 m³/h can be pumped. The “I-Real” program enables us to monitor and document the water levels in three gauges within the excavation pit. This also allows the operation of the pumps to be monitored.

The supply is planned for 420 calendar days.
