Deutsches Milchkontor GmbH would like to move into new premises in Bremen in 2023. This project is being carried out in cooperation with Johann Bunte Bauunternehmung Papenburg.

DMK processes around 6.6 billion liters of milk annually. This makes the company one of the most important suppliers to the German food trade. DMK plans to move into a new building in Bremen in 2023. The building will serve as headquarters for around 700 employees. Due to the size of the building, its construction will be realized in two phases.

In order to dry out and excavate the building pit, 680 m of deep drainage will be installed up to 4 m below ground level. There are eight elevator underpasses in the excavation pit. These areas to be excavated are kept dry by a filter drainage system. 12 electric piston pumps with the necessary accessories were installed. To ensure operational safety, an emergency generator was installed to provide the necessary power supply in the event of a construction power failure.

The groundwater from the excavation pit is contaminated and must not be discharged into the storm sewer system. In order to comply with the limits set by the responsible authorities, we clean the groundwater with a deferrization system. With the help of gravel filters, we can reduce the iron content in the groundwater. In addition, an activated carbon filter system is used to filter out other pollutants from the groundwater.
