Lowered position of the N391 ring road

Emmen_4

Client: Province of Drenthe / Municipality of Emmen

After evaluating the results of the first pumping tests, Koop Bronbemaling is currently conducting a second pumping test in the area of the lowered section of the N391 ring road in Emmen.
The aim is to investigate the feasibility and effects of a planned groundwater lowering for the renewal of an existing impermeable foil construction under the N391. This foil serves to maintain the load-bearing capacity and stability of the road in the event of fluctuating groundwater levels.

Technical implementation:

  • Conducting a large-scale pumping test to simulate the future groundwater lowering
  • Research into the effects on existing infrastructure and soil conditions
  • Analyse van de effectiviteit van geplande maatregelen voor het vervangen van de folie
  • Analysis of the effectiveness of planned measures for replacing the film

Challenges and solutions:

The challenge lies in assessing the load-bearing capacity of the subsoil during prolonged groundwater fluctuations and integrating new sealing solutions into existing infrastructures. Targeted testing and extensive data collection will create a solid basis for decision-making for further construction planning.

Result:

The pump test provides important insights into the geotechnical conditions and the effectiveness of future sealing measures. Koop Bronbemaling is thus actively supporting the sustainable renovation of this important traffic connection.

High-voltage cable route Almelo – Hengelo

Koop Dewatering is supporting Van Gelder B.V. with the implementation of a high-voltage cable route between Hengelo and Almelo in the Netherlands. The aim of the project is to build a future-proof energy infrastructure. In order to carry out the construction work safely and efficiently, targeted groundwater lowering is required - for a stable and dry working environment.
