Client: Federal Building Administration
Koop Dewatering played an important role in the early project phase for the extension of the Federal Chancellery in Berlin. During the preparatory ground investigations, we installed a pipe bridge with a span of 8 meters and a flange pipe with a diameter of 150 mm. These structures were used in test drillings to analyze the soil conditions – a crucial basis for a safe and stable foundation.
Technical implementation:
- Construction of an 8 m long pipe bridge for pipe routing
- Installation of a 150 mm flanged pipe to drain off the drilling water
- Support for the preliminary geotechnical investigations for soil analysis
- Use of proven techniques for precise and safe subsoil testing
Challenges and solutions:
The construction site is located in the highly sensitive government district of Berlin and placed special demands on safety, logistics and precision. Thanks to careful planning, close coordination with the authorities and the use of experienced specialists, we were able to carry out the work efficiently and without disruption.
Result:
Our work laid the foundations for one of Germany’s most important state construction projects. With our contribution to the subsoil exploration, we are making an important contribution to the expansion of the Chancellery – a project that is geared towards the challenges of the future, such as digitalization, the energy transition and security requirements.

Power line A-Nord – Section NRW1
As part of the expansion of the A-Nord power corridor, Koop Dewatering and its Special Projects Team are working on the NRW1 section. The approximately 73-kilometre section is part of the 300-kilometre overall route that is to transport wind power from the north to the industrial south of Germany - a key infrastructure project for the energy transition.

Denmark, Fehmarnbelt Tunnel
The Fehmarn Belt Tunnel is being built between the German island of Fehmarn and the Danish island of Lolland. This is the largest infrastructure project in Europe and the longest immersed tunnel in the world. An interesting and challenging project for Koop.
