In Locomotiefstraat, near our Utrecht office, we participated in a very nice subway project. During the first weekend in May, the company Hegeman placed a prefabricated bicycle tunnel underpass in the railroad embankment.
The underpass at Locomotiefstraat was closed for 76 hours during the weekend of May 1 and 2. The rail line between Breukelen and Utrecht Central Station was taken out of service. In the run-up to the weekend, Koop Wasserbau GmbH had already carried out drainage work. However, the main focus was on the work during the weekend, when everything had to run optimally in order to meet the construction schedule.
On the weekend of the relocation of the bicycle tunnel underpass, a supervisor from our company was on site with a team to check the existing drainage and then to install another drainage in the excavation. First, the railroad embankment was removed and then the cofferdam was excavated to the proper depth. Thanks to good cooperation and communication with Hegeman and other subcontractors on site, the project was completed successfully and on time.
It is great for our company to be part of such a tightly organized project
